June 7, 2013 I have had chalazion surgery at Makati Medical Center. It was my
first time to undergo the said procedure to get rid of the lump on my upper
left eyelid that has been there for almost two months.
I underwent series of medications at home, which was prescribed by my eye doctor, such as doing the hot compresses, putting ointment on my eye and using eye drops but to no avail. Mind you the price of those eye cream and eye drop are expensive!

I am very scared of the surgery thingy but the thought of
getting rid of the lump is so strong that it vanishes my fear, not to
mention hesitation, away.
My surgery time was 3pm but I have to go to the registration department or the operating room of Makati Medical Center at 2 p.m. on the 4th floor Tower 2 to register. I was given a hospital bracelet with my name, age, gender and the name of my doctor. The receptionist instructed me to wait at the lobby for my turn. After many hours of waiting there, I was called and headed to the operating room. I was assisted by a lady nurse to change my clothes into hospital gown and recorded my body mass on my patient information profile.

During the surgery the doctor put eye drops on my left eye followed by local anesthesia. He rubs my eyelid to spread out the anesthesia so that I will feel nothing for the incision and curettage procedure. He also instructs me to look down so that he can put the clump on my eyelid. After 10 mins. the procedure is done. My chalazion has been removed and the surgery was successful! Here's the picture of me after the surgery. I have an eye patch which will be removed after 4 hours.
