4. You’re given the chance to change one law in your country, what would you change?
5. You can live in any city/country, which one would you choose?

Things I Want to Achieved Before I turn 30!

Photo grabbed from laurenlatelyblog.com

I'll be turning 26 in a couple of months and if you will ask me if I am happy about it, I would say "yes" and "no". Yes, because another year will be added to my age and I'm very blessed to live on earth for this long (Uyy, ang drama!). And no because it will shorten my time to accomplish my goals before I hit 30. Now that we are talking about what I want to achieved in life, let me list them here:

  • I want to own a 2 storey house in a secured subdivision either in Taguig or around Metro Manila.
  • I want to have my own business! I know that I can't be rich by having a job and rely on monthly pay check. I need to create or have an extra income on the side to be financially stable. I'm still thinking of what business shall I venture or put up. I'm now starting to save money to use as a capital.
  • I want to get married at the age of 28 and have kids before I hit 30.
  • Travel the entire Philippines starting June of 2016! Why do I chose that month and year? It's because my youngest sister will expected to graduate on March 2016. I am basically FREE from loads of expenses!  More money to travel local places. Weeee!
  • Renovate our house and turn it into a 4 door apartment.
  • Have braces without having no reason at all.
  • Lose weight. Dreaming of 105 lbs. weight and have flat tummy! I'm currently 113 lbs. now which is a boo, boo!
  • Learn how to bake either cupcakes or breads.
  • Learn how to swim on a deep ocean.
  • Cauterize my small warts on different areas of my body. I just want to get rid of them.
  •  Having a flawless skin especially on the face area. I have pimple scars on my face right now and it makes me sad sometimes.
  • Travel to my province, Daanbantayan Cebu!
  • Get a passport.
That's all for now but I will add more if something pop-up in my head. LOL. Anyway, Do you have 30 goals before you hit 30 someday? Why not share them here on the comment section below.

10 Financial Tips that I do to Save Money

photo grabbed from ecx.images-amazon.com
I’m now halfway to my 20’s and it is hard to admit that I am not getting any younger but have low net worth, less earning income and zero property. Last year, I started saving money for my retirement plan and for purchasing future property or for venturing into business. I am now on the verge of aggressively increasing my savings and these following tips really help me to achieve it:

1.       I record all my expenditures every month to easily track down which expenses I need to minimize or avoid spending.

2.       I am an impulsive buyer before but now I try to control it by categorizing the product or things that caught my eye if that's a necessity or not.

3.       I eat out one fewer time each month.

4.       I avoid going to the malls during payday.

5.       I do my shopping during sale.

6.       When I do my grocery, I bring a list with me and I stick to it. I also make sure that I am not hungry or else I might purchase things that I don’t really need.

7.       I bring my packed lunch to work.

8.       During payday I take off 10%-20% off my net income to put into my savings account. This one is the hardest thing to do but it makes me happy when I know I got to save more for that month.

9.       Live a simple life. Don’t be a snob or purchase things that are expensive especially if you can’t afford it. I learned this mantra from our former sr. accountant of the company I am working right now.

10.   I watch my savings grow and it gives me a satisfaction that I am on the right track. I giggle when I reach or meet my target amount quarterly.

I hope those tips I mentioned above will also inspires you to save more and be financially free from debts! Why not share your saving tips on the comment section below so that we can discuss it.

Music21: Halloween Office Party & Surprise Birthday Cake for October Celebrants!

Last year we spent the Halloween party at the office. If I can remember correctly, we just invited a small number of kids for trick or treat and had simple snack after. For this year we changed it and suggested to have a videoke/karaoke party, luckily the management approved it. Hooray for our kind boss in Australia!

Due to difficulty on reservation for the last week of October; we set the Halloween party a bit early last Thursday, October 23 at Music21. We went there after our shift and arrived just in time at the venue. I take the chance to shot as many photo as I want but that didn't happened because my phone is acting strange that time. Boo!

Without further ado here are a few photos of the event that I took and our sumptuous meal that day:

J's Farewell Party at Center Stage with Ms. Vi

Bidding good bye is difficult especially if that person is someone you considered as family or closest friend at work. When Ms. J resigned and informed me about it, I was sad because she's one of my special friend. I can easily talked to her whenever I have queries either on legal matters or work related problems. She also taught me how to understand my SSS loan and contribution which is also the hardest thing to understand next to Philippine tax. I also like that she's a natural comedian & a joker. She makes us very happy at the office with her showbiz gossips and side punch lines. Writing this post makes me missed her.

Okay, I am becoming emotional now. Enough of the sad introduction and let’s move on what happened on her farewell party.

It was Ms. J's idea to go to Center Stage Makati for videoke bonding after work. Before we went there, Kristine (our sexy receptionist) handled the reservation for 6pm time slot. We took a cab to get there and waited at the lobby before our turned to assisted to one of the videoke rooms. We arrived an hour early that's why we busied ourselves with obligatory group shot. Haha.
Random banner that I saw at the center stage
Center Stage Lobby. It is a bit small but very cozy.
Ms. J on blue wrap up dress, Kristine, she's busy texting and Lia
Ms. J and I. Boo! I am not really good on taking nice shot.
Center stage has this package for 3 hours non-stop videoke inclusive of food for 2,184 pesos. Here are the foods that we chose.
Calamares
Tofu with special sauce
My favorite Pancit
A large bowl of hot rice
Chicken barbecue
We didn't expect it to taste good. We really like the calamares and the chicken barbecue. Here are also the photos of our room with my photo bomber friends:
Kristine and Lia. The room is spacious and sound proof.
Flat screen T.V.
Ms. J and her separated at birth identical twin sister, Jean.
Ms. J and Ms. Vi. They surely missed each other
We had fun that day because we sang a lot of songs; 90's and modern songs. Ms. J and Ms. Vi we will surely miss both of you. God bless and hopes to you see around.

Self-realization: I'm turning 25 this month!

October is my birth month and 12 days after I published this entry I will be turning 25 years old. Damn, time flies really fast. I remember the time that I turned 13 years old, I have so many doubts and hesitations being a teenager. I thought back then that when I hit 20's things will be much better since I will have job, have an independent life and so on but I realized now that those things are not easily achievable.

I want to label myself now as being a wiser woman because those experiences and challenges that I experienced along the way help me to be a better person that I am right now. I still commit mistakes, hurt other people with my wrong actions and become moody when I am having a bad day. I am lucky that despite those bad attitudes, I still have true friends that stay on my side. I have my family who are always there to cheer me up when I am at the lowest point of my life. They’re my treasure! I may not be rich but with them I feel I am a billionaire, not with money but with love.

I really don't know what the future holds for me but I'm embracing this new journey into my life. I know better things will come on my way. If today is not a good day as I expected it should be, I still have another day to succeed. I want to end this post my saying happy birthday to me and to all those people who will also celebrating their birthday this October. Cheers and virtual hugs!

Do you have any birthday wishes for me? Post it on my comment section below.

Another Monday Traffic Experience

I am late today and having said that, I'm not in a good mood right now. Why?! Because I'm stuck in the traffic along Nichols for an hour just to get off to Ayala, Makati this morning. My back hurts because I was riding an ordinary bus and their back rest is made of wood. I can also feel that my butt flatten a bit because of sitting for too long. I also don't like the smell of dirty air coming from trucks and cars. It is very toxic! If you’re suffering from asthma, do not put your life at risk by riding an ordinary bus during rush hour especially on Monday. You have been warned!

The bus is congested with passengers too. Many of them run out of chairs to sit that's why they have no choice but to stand up until they get to their destination. Some of them have cough, I saw them spewing phlegm outside the window. Looks gross right?! But they have no choice because we are stuck there in the freaking traffic!

I stared outside the window and the beautiful sun is smiling at me but I can appreciate it's beauty. I am having a bad day plus the fact that I am sweaty and my hair is messy. This is a very terrible Monday morning. Why oh why?! I don’t know if I done something wrong to experienced it…Why me?! Why?!!!! After one hour of self-realization, exposing my lungs to dirty air and counting many cars I finally get off to Makati. Thank God.

What about you? Are you stuck in the traffic today? Share your experience at the comment section below.

My Cyst Surgery and My Road to Recovery

I mentioned on my previous blog post here that I underwent cyst operation at Makati Medical Centre. I thank the Lord that the laboratory result of my cyst is not malignant. Before we jump into my surgery story here is the picture of my cyst to give you an idea how big it was.
One week before the operation date I was advice by my doctor to take antibacterial tablets which is cefuroxime (500mgs). I need to take it every 12 hours a day. The medicine smells awful and it taste bad too. Oh I forgot I also had a hard time to gulp it down because the tablet is big.

The cyst operation that I had is not a major one which just lasted for an hour. The injection of anesthesia is painful but the operation is just a breeze after. Luckily, my general surgeon has a good sense of humor. I didn't notice that he already removed the cyst because he was throwing jokes to divert my attention.

After the surgery, I didn't experience difficulty taking a bath because my wound is covered with waterproof dressing. I forgot to shot a picture of it so my apology. Here's the picture of my back, after 2 weeks and after the doctor removed the waterproof dressing:

My Thoughts on Fifty Shades of Grey Trailer + Amazing Facts!

I was very surprise about the news I heard over the radio while I am riding the bus on my way to the office this morning. The two DJ are talking about the trailer of Fifty Shades of Grey and I was like OMGGG I need to watch it. I admit I am not a fan. I have the copy of it on e-book. I read it for a while and then I stopped. Haha.

The trailer is also popular in my Facebook feeds that morning and some of my friends are raving about it too. Okay, okay calm the nerves down. To be honest I am quite intrigue how the trailer looks like; how it will entice the avid readers of the book and at the same time the movie goers to raid the theaters. LOL. Because I love you guys I also uploaded the video here which I grabbed from YouTube.com for you to watch it.

Facts:

Dakota Johnson will portray as "Anastasia Steele" while Jamie Dorman will portray as "Christian Grey". Beyonce sang her famous “Crazy in Love” here and she kind of revises the tune of it which is very sexy! The film will be release next year February 14, 2015 so mark now your calendar guys!

Becoming More Responsible

It’s been almost two weeks since my mom and dad went to the province for a month long vacation and left us (I and my two younger siblings) manage our house. Having no parents around for the first three days was freedom but things changed when the typhoon Glenda hit Metro Manila that left us with no electricity for 5 days!

Since my parents are not with us we need to spend wisely the budget for 15 days before our next payroll. The budget came from us (Niña and I) that we earned from our respective work. Oh I forgot to tell you that my dear sister is a programmer while my youngest sister namely Anjanette is a sophomore college student at PUP-Taguig. She's on the job training right now in Makati as of writing. I am such a proud ate that I want to brag it here. Hehe.

Moving on to our topic since I’m the eldest and my work schedule is set from 7:30am to 4:30pm I do the grocery before I went home. It means I need to go to the wet market to buy veggies, pork or chicken to cook for our dinner and for our breakfast too. I’m also in charge of cooking them a meal. I admit I have no skills on cooking but slowly I’m learning on it because I have no choice while my two siblings are force to eat what dish I prepared for them! Haha. We also set a schedule to do our laundry during weekends because that’s the time that we are off from work. Luckily we have a washing machine at home so there’s no need for us to freak out about doing that chore.

Primitive Life for 5 Days

I mentioned about my previous post about typhoon Glenda and how the strong storm brought howling wind and heavy rain which created tremendous damaged on the capital city of the Philippines. It destroys houses, struck down trees and kills the livelihood of many Filipinos. The power line was also ruined that we experienced having no electricity for 5 days which is a very long day that resemble into a month and even a year of living a primitive life in my case! Do I sound like I exaggerating things?! That's what I felt on that moment. LOL.

Having no electricity I got a chance to reflect things and live a simple life for a while. I busied myself by enjoying the sound of silent and remembering my childhood memories when life is still not dominated with internet and computer games. At home we use candles sticks and lamps to have a light. We also use “pamaypay” or fan that is made with fabric and sticks to cool ourselves during a hot night. When it comes to my mobile phones I charged it in the office. Luckily the electricity resume Monday morning and all things came back to normal again. I feel like the whole world lighted in front of me when I saw the light bulbs on our house turned on when I clicked the power button. Haha. Yeah, I am that crazy!

After the wrath of typhoon Glenda

July 16 was a terrible day here in Philippines due to typhoon Glenda that hit Metro Manila. The storm signal was raise from signal number 2 to signal number 3 on the evening of July 15. I woke up 2 in the morning because of the noise outside our house created by the strong wind and heavy rain. This is also the time that the power line was shut down in our area in Taguig to prevent further occurrence of accident. We are totally concealed into darkness but we are still fortunate that the storm landed during the day time rather than the night time because it might became worst if the latter happen.

To be honest I got scared about what happened because my mom and dad were not there in our side. They went to the province for a one month vacation. Being the eldest I need to assure the safety of my two younger siblings ages 19 and 17 years old. We were stuck there inside the house and stare from our living room's window scenes such as roof got taken off by a strong wind, branches of trees flying in the mid-air and falling to other houses. The growling noise of the wind is super scary that even my two younger cousins who are also in our house become panicky. We also experienced being fallen down by a large branch of a narra tree at the top of our roof from our nearby neighbor. Luckily it doesn't create a huge damage and doesn't cut our roof.

Here are the pictures that I've taken after the typhoon. If I remember it correctly it was 11 in the morning when a strong wind stopped. We exhale a sign of relief that after all what had happened we are still safe.

Look at that trees and shrubs that has been cut down my strong wind of typhoon Glenda

Clean up time after the storm strong wind subside. It also still drizzling at that moment but it is bearable.

We also experience flood due to the heavy rain and poor drainage system in our area. I hope our local municipality especially the baranggay officials will do something about this problem.
